We’ve been working on ways to get our children involved with participating in chores.  It’s not every day that they get excited about doing chores unless there’s something in it for them – no one teaches them that mentality.  “What’s in it for me, Mama?”  They may not say it that way exactly, but I can totally read their little minds.

Today, I was able to capture some proof that you can totally have fun with chores!  Before Jerry and I had any children, we would get our car washed.  I know I never looked forward to cleaning our car.   Fast forward to now – washing our car has become a magical chore!  Any chore becomes amazing when little people are doing it!  The next time you have something to do around the house, get them involved and marvel in the moment because they are truly precious!

After today, I promised myself to pull my camera out at least once a day to capture my little ones helping around the house – even if it’s with my camera phone.  I put a very short list together of chores that Isabella and Caiden already do. I’d love to hear what your toddlers do around the house.  It might give me some more ideas!

List Of Chores:

1. Hand Washing Dishes (loading and unloading the dishwasher)

2. Folding Laundry – Isabella has mastered folding wash cloths and hand towels

3.  Feeding our Dogs

4.  Making their beds

5.  Watering Plants

As I watch them grow, my constant prayer is to be an example of what it means to serve one another – even through the daily mundane things like picking up toys.  There’s a bigger picture!  They make my heart melt.  I’m glad that I was able to capture them enjoying their Saturday afternoon being little helpers!
